Hand the tedious manual work of crypto tax preparation, from importing transaction history to resolving missing data, over to AI.

TOKYO, JAPAN – June 4, 2026 — cryptact, a digital asset tax platform, today announced a new write capability for the cryptact MCP Server*. Simply by connecting cryptact to AI assistants such as Claude or ChatGPT, users can complete the entire crypto tax calculation workflow, from importing transaction history to resolving missing data, through conversation alone.

Background

Calculating crypto gains and losses can be streamlined with software, but the preparation behind it has remained manual. Investors still had to gather transaction history across exchanges and wallets and supplement any missing information themselves.

To address this with AI, cryptact released a command line interface (CLI) on April 2, 2026, followed by read capability for the MCP Server on April 16, 2026.

What the write capability does

By connecting cryptact to an AI tool such as Claude or ChatGPT, users can handle crypto tax tasks conversationally. These include:

  • Importing transaction history through CSV upload, API integration, or wallet connection
  • Resolving unclassified transactions, including missing quantities, absent price data, and unsupported coins
  • Bulk-approving AI suggestions for DeFi transactions that could not be categorized automatically

In addition, by pairing cryptact with browsing tools such as Claude in Chrome, users can also automate the collection of transaction history.

Executive comment

“We started cryptact to make crypto tax simpler. With this addition to the MCP Server, the time-consuming preparation that calculation tools alone could never eliminate can now be handed to an AI through plain conversation,” said Amin Azmoudeh, Co-CEO of pafin Inc., which operates cryptact. “I believe this is a transformative step forward towards making crypto tax preparation approachable by many more investors. We will continue refining our tools and infrastructure to underpin investing and transparency in the crypto ecosystem.”

Availability

The cryptact MCP Server is available to all cryptact users, including those on the free plan. Setup instructions are available on the help page.

* MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open protocol for connecting AI tools with external services. Proposed by Anthropic as an open standard, it is supported by a growing range of tools including Claude Desktop and ChatGPT. An MCP server is the connection point that, based on this protocol, makes the data and functions tied to an external service account available to an AI assistant.
