cryptact Launches Sync-n-Forget, Preserving Exchange History Before API Deadlines Pass

Transaction history is retrieved automatically, preventing missed syncs and eliminating the burden of routine manual work.

TOKYO, JAPAN – September 14, 2026 — cryptact, a digital asset tax platform used by more than 200,000 people, has launched Sync-n-Forget, a feature that automatically retrieves and stores transaction history from connected exchange accounts before each exchange's API retrieval window closes. Users on the Basic plan and above no longer need to log in and sync on a schedule to keep their records complete.

Background

Some exchanges limit how far back their APIs can reach, returning only the past 30 days of data. Once that window passes, the data can no longer be pulled through the API.

Users are then left to download history files from the exchange's own interface and upload them by hand, and when no record was kept at all, accurate calculation becomes difficult. Until now, the only defense was to log in to cryptact and run a sync before each deadline, a routine that is easy to forget.

What Sync-n-Forget does

cryptact has developed and operated its own data retrieval infrastructure for years, handling the differing API specifications, rate limits and data formats of each exchange, and keeping those integrations up to date as exchanges change. Sync-n-Forget adds a scheduled retrieval layer on top of that infrastructure, one that is not triggered by user activity.

For connected exchanges with deadline-limited endpoints, cryptact queries the exchange API on a regular cycle and writes the history to its own database automatically. Whether the user is logged in makes no difference.

Because Sync-n-Forget operates through cryptact's existing service infrastructure, stored API keys remain encrypted and protected exactly as they are today.

What changes for users

Users no longer need to track API retrieval deadlines. Stored history is delivered to the account the next time the user presses Sync for that API connection. Someone who has not logged in for several months receives the whole intervening period in a single pass, instead of finding a gap that can no longer be filled.

Coverage applies to exchanges whose APIs impose a retrieval limit, including Bybit, MEXC, OKJ, KuCoin, Binance, OKX and BitTrade. The retrievable period differs by exchange and by endpoint; details are published on cryptact's help pages.

Executive comment

"Transaction history that has already been lost is not easy to recover, and the limits exchanges set on their APIs are not something users can solve on their own," said Amin Azmoudeh, Co-CEO of pafin Inc. "We have applied our own technology to close that gap, so records stay protected without the user taking any action. We want investors spending their time on investment decisions, not on keeping records intact."

Availability

Sync-n-Forget is enabled automatically on Basic and higher paid plans at no additional cost, and there is nothing for users to configure. The Free plan and the data retention plan are not eligible. If an account moves from a paid plan to Free, automatic retrieval stops.

After logging in to cryptact, check the sync status from the API connection page of exchanges that provide time-limited APIs.
